Roulette is the simplest casino table to learn and one of the easiest to overplay. The XE88 version follows the European layout: one green zero and the numbers 1 to 36 in red and black. You place chips, press Spin, and the ball decides. The old guide listed the bet types in one sentence. Here they are properly laid out.
The layout at a glance
The numbers sit in three rows of twelve, with the green 0 on the left. Along the bottom are the outside bets: 1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3rd 12, then 1 to 18, EVEN, black, red, ODD and 19 to 36. The "2 to 1" boxes at the end of each row are column bets. Above the grid is a RECORD strip showing recent results.
The limits sit top-left: minimum 0.5, maximum 100.
The bets and what they usually pay
On a single-zero table the standard payouts are:

The single 0 is why the house wins over time. It is not red or black, odd or even, so every outside bet loses when it lands. On a single-zero wheel that gives the house an edge of about 2.7% on every bet type.
A round, step by step
- Pick a chip from the rail (0.5 up to 100).
- Tap the layout to place it. Undo removes the last chip, Clear bets removes them all.
- Press Spin. The wheel view opens and the ball drops into a pocket.
- Winning bets are paid, the number joins the Record strip, and New Game clears the table.
The screenshots show two small wins: one round returns 4 on a total bet of 2, another returns 2 on a spread of chips worth 1.5.
Habits worth keeping
- The Record strip tells you what happened, not what comes next. Red after five blacks is still a coin flip minus the zero.
- Covering most of the table feels safe but guarantees small, steady losses.
- Doubling after every loss runs into the 100 table limit sooner than you would expect.
