Motorbike (XE88): six dirt bikes, one odds board

The old write-up put it plainly: Motorbike is quite similar to King Derby. It is the same pixel-art track, the same starting gate and the same black odds board, with the horses swapped for six motocross riders in bright colours. If you know one, you know the other. If you know neither, here is the short version.

The riders and the race

Each bike carries a number from 1 to 6 and a rider in his own colour. When the race starts the gates spring open, a man in a yellow jacket waves the flag, and the pack bunches up on the first bend before stringing out along the straight.

Reading the odds board

The board, headed NEW ODDS, is a grid of pairs. Numbers 6 to 2 run across the top and 1 to 5 down the side, which gives fifteen pairs from 1-2 to 5-6. Each has a payout figure. In the screenshots they run from 3 for the favourites up to 1000 for the rank outsiders.

This is the key point: you are backing a pair of bikes, not a single one. The LAST 5R column shows the pairs that came in recently. One screenshot lists "1-2 4": riders 1 and 2 finished at the top, and that pair was priced at 4.

The board also names a STARTER, a FINISHER and a SPRINTER. No explanation is given, so don't read them as tips.

Coins and payouts

Pick a coin button (0, 1, 10 or 50), tap the pair you want, and press start. Your balance sits in COINS, the last payout in WIN. The bottom line reads JACKPOT X3 X4 X5 FREE MOTO, which hints at occasional multiplied payouts or free races. Their timing is not explained, so leave them out of your plans.

Short races, quick losses

The pace is the thing to watch: races come round quickly and the coins go with them. Decide on a coin limit before the first gate opens and stop when it is used up.
